Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering started functioning from 1958 and provides three year full time Diploma program. It aims to provide high quality education and training, well in tune with current developments in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and impart awareness about professional ethics, social responsibilities and sustainable development for serving the society. The laboratories are modernized with the latest equipment and machinery.

Program Educational Objectives

  • PEO 1 - Our graduates will be able to apply their technical knowledge and take on higher responsibilities in industry, academics and diverse fields of Electrical engineering.
  • PEO 2 – Exhibit an innovative approach to face the current technical and environmental challenges faced by the society.
  • PEO 3 – They will be able to channelize their knowledge base, business links and social contacts into socially beneficial activities.

Program Outcomes

  • Basic And Discipline Specific Knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
  • Problem Analysis : Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

Electrical Machines Lab

Electrical Machines Lab provides the essential facilities to the students to augment their concepts about the fundamentals of Transformers and rotating Machines. The lab is equipped with DC Series /Shunt motor, Compound motor Universal motor, Single phase induction motor, Single phase-Transformer, three phases Induction motor, three phase Synchronous motor, three phase transformer and Alternator. The lab is equipped with various tests and monitoring equipped with various tests and monitoring equipment also.

Electrical Measurement & Measuring Instrument Lab

This lab provides the facilities to the students to perform the duties of Installation, operation, maintenance and testing by measuring instruments which is required in power plants, Substations and in industries. Also with the help of instruments students read and observe the general Electrical quantities like current, voltage, power, energy, frequency, resistance etc and their wave shapes.

Industrial Electrical Engineering Lab & Electrical Workshop Pratice

This work shop aims to develop skills required for repairing, fault finding, wiring in electrical appliances, testing and installations. This develops a special skill for the electrification of various farms and residence.

Power Electronics Lab

This lab introduces the student to measurement and simulation of important operating characteristics of power electronic circuits and power semiconductor devises. It also provides experience with common components such as motors, batteries, magnetic devices, and power semiconductors. Student find simple and effective solutions to fundamental and persistent engineering problems.

PLC & Microcontroller Lab

In this lab basic assembly language programming skill is improved to the students with INTEL8051 PLC .PLC act as an industrial ease of programming and process fault diagnosis using Allen Bradley controller.

Computer Aided Drafting Lab

Auto CADD is the standard design software used in the electrical engineering field. Designers and drafters use it to create two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) computer drawings through Auto desk. Students interested to learn how to use this software and practice to draw and design electrical equipments and circuits.
